Our Story

UNWASTED was born from a shared vision between two sustainability pioneers: Kristina Burja, CEO of Krie Design and founder of the Krie x Provir movement, and Dina Dragija, President of Youth Leadership Network and Junior Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science.

 Kristina’s passion for circular fashion, combined with her professional career advocating for sustainable innovations in the fashion industry, aligns seamlessly with Dina’s commitment to empowering youth leaders and her expertise in sustainable business strategies. Together, they have converged their strengths to create a one-of-a-kind event that transcends mere discussion, driving tangible and impactful change toward a sustainable future.

We are deeply honored to have the patronage of the esteemed World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS). Founded in 1960 by luminaries such as Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer, WAAS serves as a global forum where some of the brightest minds across disciplines come together to address the most pressing challenges facing humanity.

WAAS is an international non-governmental organization with a focus on promoting the advancement of art and science in service of the greater good. The Academy has a rich history of fostering collaboration between scholars, scientists, artists, and thought leaders from around the world. Through its initiatives, WAAS seeks to develop and promote innovative strategies to address complex global issues.

Notably, WAAS has been granted Special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and maintains official relations with UNESCO. These affiliations underscore the Academy’s significant role in shaping global discourse and policy.
